Detailed Itinerary

Day 1
Kampala - Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.
At 0630hrs, pick up from you residence in Kampala or Entebbe and after a trip briefing, sign in our trip book and depart Kampala heading to Bwindi. We shall have an en-route stop at the Equator for a photo-opportunity and Mbarara town respectively for lunch. The last stretch of the Bwindi is a picturesque one that reveals the exhilarating nature beauty of the Kigezi Region. Check-in at your reserved accommodation facility for the rest of the night.

Day 2
Day to Trek & Track Gorillas
Wake up to the hissing, whizzing, and hooting sounds of the dense Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Pack lunch, water, and emergency supplies and follow your allocated ranger guide to gorilla sanctuary. Trekking/tracking gorillas is a vigorous activity as tourists explore the abundant flora and fauna of the Bwindi forest. Conformity to the park rules is vital and maximum silence is crucial for you to listen to the rhythms of nature. As you approach gorillas maintain maximum calmness and exploit every moment of the strictly allocated one hour in the presence of the gentle great apes. With great memories of the wonders of nature, trek back to the staging area and join your driver back to your lodge.

Day 3
Batwa Trail - Lake Bunyonyi
Today is set apart for a special experience with the Batwa People as they relive their life while still in Mgahinga Forest. The Batwa People (also pejoratively referred to as pygmies) are small-bodied forest people who between 1990 & 1993 were evicted from Bwindi and Mgahinga Forests after the two game reserves were upgraded to National Parks. This full-day activity starts from the park headquarters with Batwa guides showing-case their former lives and practices in the forest. You will witness how they used to prepare for hunting, their deity inclinations, how they used to make fire, their fruits and herbs as well as their norms, values, and superstitions. The tour ends at the Sacred Garama Cave which used to be a hideout from enemies and a home to their legendary king. Batwa women make a performance with sorrowful echoes of their fading culture. After such a moving experience, take a transfer to Lake Bunyonyi and relax for the rest of the evening at Bunyonyi Eco Lodge.

Day 4
Day for Excursions and Leisure
Day Four: Day for Excursions and Leisure. A fresh a gentle breeze conquers the early morning as the sun squeezes through the clouds to brighten the day. Have breakfast and embark on take a dug-out canoe ride on Lake Bunyonyi. Explore the artistic work of nature with a blend of terraced farm-land. Visit the Punishment Island and the Batwa Community. Return to Eco Lodge and relax for the rest of the day.

Day 5
Main-land and Transfer to Kampala.
After breakfast, enjoy last moments watching birds at Eco Resort Bunyonyi, check-out and transfer to the mainland. Take a scenic and leisurely ride, refuel in Mbarara town and break for lunch at Igongo Cultural Centre. Proceed to Kampala and drop-off at your residence or drop-off at Entebbe International airport on time for your onward flight out.
